What I believe is simple, yet profound. So profound that (eternal) life or death depends on it:
1. God is holy, righteous, and just (perfectly so). (Deuteronomy 32:3-4) He deserves all glory, honor, and praise.
2. We are not (i.e. we are sinners; great big fat ones) and we deserve Hell. (Romans 3:23, 6:23)
3. We can not fix this problem ourselves but God made a way through His son, Jesus. (Romans 5:6-11)
4. Jesus bore the punishment we deserved, in order that we might be saved from God's wrath. Jesus paid for our sin (by dying on a cross) and then rose (from death) three days later, overcoming death and sin, and now sits at the right hand of God in Heaven. (Romans 8:3, 32-34)
5. If we trust in His work on the cross (confessing that He is Lord and believing in our heart), we will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
Believing these things, trusting in them, and then living our lives in light of them bring us peace with God and life everlasting.
It's a beautiful and wonderful story to be a part of and I am so thankful that my Creator made a way for me to live with Him forever, rather than bearing the awful weight of my sin.
I give Him all the glory. Do you??

very well said :)
ReplyDeleteWait...you mean you actually believe that? What are you one of those, like, fanatical real Christians who believes that the Bible is actually the infallible (no errors) word of God that contains all that we need for life and godliness(2 Tim 3:16; 2 Peter 1:3) and you actually believe that it is appointed for man to live, die, and then face judgment (Hebrews 9:27) and that Jesus is the only way of salvation (John 14:6)?
ReplyDeleteOh good, cause that's how I am too.
amen sister!
