Family Birthdays

August is full of birthdays for us...mainly on Brandon's side. Aunt, BF (the Gabe-ster), Grandmother, Brandon, & Dad! That makes for a busy month! It's been nice getting together in small family and friends gatherings to celebrate all these lives that have quickly come to mean the world to me!

Grandma DeBelius turned 92!

This birthday gathering was especially sweet since we were able to take her out of the nursing home and celebrate at her favorite Chinese restaurant. She did great and we had a wonderful time listening to good memories!

Next up...the love of my life turns 27!

Festivities began when our dear friends hosted a birthday lunch after church...special order: hamburgers, beans, potato salad (handmade by Carla!) and, a DeSpain-Lessa tradition, chocolate pudding!

Monday was his actual birthday. Usually that would be sad, since Monday's a work day. However, since I am off for the summer, I was able to meet up with him for lunch, something that we don't normally (i.e. never) get to do!

Where did we meet? In and Out, of course! (For those of you that don't know my husband, he could live entirely off of In and Out if you let him!

Coming home from work, he was surprised with an extra-rad birthday cake from our friends, the Martins!

Pretty much, his favorite preachers were wishing him a happy birthday. Thanks Jules...it was delish...and hilarious! Hands down, best birthday cake ever!

And, to make his day complete, we had dinner with his parents at his favorite restaurant:
